F. Linguistic elements
In general, narrative text has the following language elements:
- Noun: in general, the noun (noun) is used as a pronoun for an animal person, or an object in a story, for example, stepmother, the dwarfs, carriage, and others.
- Past tense: narrative text uses the past tense verb (verb 2), for example went, ate, met, and others.
- Time connective: is a time connective to sort events, for example after, before, after that, and so on.
- Action verbs: a verb that shows an event or activity, for example stayed, climbed, wrote, and others.
- Saying and thinking verb: a verb that shows reporting or utterance, for example said, told, thought, and so on.

Pumpkins
One day there was a boy named Peter, he was a good boy and also handsome. He has such a good personality, everyone around him knows that. Peter is also a child who is always obedient to his parents, he also really loves his parents. Peter has many friends at school and at home.
That afternoon, Peter was walking home with a sad face. He could not pay school fees because Peter's parents were having financial problems, therefore Peter felt sad because he felt like he had to quit school because he could not pay money for school.
While on the way he met an old grandmother, the grandmother brought pumpkins. Peter saw that the grandmother looked like it was difficult to carry pumpkins, Peter approached the grandmother and helped her by bringing the pumpkins and headed to the grandmother's house. When he got to his grandmother's house, Peter said goodbye to go back to his house then grandmother told Peter to bring one of the pumpkins to take home. At first Peter refused, but grandmother insisted. Finally, Peter choose the smallest pumpkins and then he returned to his house.
When he got home, Peter also split the pumpkin he had brought from the grandmother's house. How surprised Peter was when he saw that the contents of the pumpkin were gold and money. He also told his parents that, Peter was happy because he could pay his tuition and still go to school.
